Start Your Healthy Life Style With A 3-Day Detox Diet

If you want to improve your health, a detox program could be your answer. Majority of us are not aware of the adverse effects of modern lifestyle to our overall health.

The foods that we eat are generally high in sugar content, are fatty and are processed with chemical additives to make them taste better and last longer. Our bodies are designed to eliminate them only up to a certain extent. Your body’s elimination system will get overworked if you continue eating this unnatural food. With this 3-day jumpstart, you have to increase your liquid intake in the form of clean water and fresh fruit juices, from 8 to10 glasses per day. You also have to avoid eating the normal food that pollutes your system. Your liquid intake will help flush out these toxins.

Lose Weight
It is possible for you to lose from 5 to 10 pounds in three days by doing a 3-day detox diet program. If you are overweight and want to lose some pounds quickly, this is an effective way. But if you just do it as a quick-fix, you will find your weight coming back a few weeks later. The danger is you will fall into a diet cycle of losing some pounds, gaining it back again, and so forth. That’s why a long range goal is more effective if you want to really lose weight.

During your 3-day detox diet, start your morning by drinking a cup of warm water with ½ lemon squeezed in it. This drink will stimulate your gastric juices. Your meal for the day should include the following:

  • One cup of whole grain brown rice, or amaranth or buckwheat.
  • One serving, each meal, of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • You can make a salad of the fruits and vegetables but use only natural virgin oils or vinegar for your dressing.
  • Take two doses of a liver or kidney tonic during the 3 day period. This will help in the detoxification.
  • Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water per day, this may include the fresh fruit juices.
  • Before going to bed, drink a cup of herbal tea.

Do not overlook the part that physical exercise plays on your health. If you have a medical condition, seek the counsel of your physician first. But if you are just the average person, it will be good if you could have a 30-minute walk in your 3-day program.
