Detox Diet Menu – Your Ticket To Good Health

Nowadays, it seems that more and more people are getting sick. What’s even worse is that the incidence of degenerative diseases, such as cardiovascular disorders and diabetes, is getting higher with the younger generation.

It is not unusual for a 25 year old to have a stroke or a heart attack. Also, obesity has become an epidemic almost everywhere in the world today.

It is a well established fact that most of us don’t eat the right kind of food anymore and a majority don’t even exercise. Many of us are too concentrated on our work, hence, we tend to disregard and jeopardize our health. We need to correct this and there are a lot of ways to become and healthy and stay fit. You can start with changing your eating habits and your diet.

Most people are accustomed to eating canned, processed, and fatty food. Most of these are high in salt and cholesterol and leaves traces of toxins in the body. If we regularly eat these kinds of food, toxins will gradually accumulate and could pile up to an extent that our body can’t get rid of them anymore. These toxins can make us vulnerable to different kinds of disease-causing pathogens. One way to become healthy is to get rid of these toxins through detoxification.

Body Detoxification

Our body undergoes the process of detoxification naturally through the liver, kidneys, skin and intestinal tract. However, if the amount of toxins in the body is very large, most of it will not be eliminated. A good way to help our body detoxify is by adhering to a detox diet menu program. The main idea of this program is to eat organic and natural fruits and vegetables throughout the day, instead of eating processed meat and animal products. Medical studies have suggested that eating natural and unprocessed fruits and vegetables regularly will help the body to get rid of harmful toxins. It is rich with fiber which will help you establish regular bowel movement. Fruits and vegetables are also rich sources of vitamins and nutrients which can boost the body’s immune system. It also contains antioxidants which fights free radicals that can damage the body’s cells.

Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

You can eat different fruits and vegetables and add supplements to your daily menu. It is pretty much a combination and not fixed so you can experiment as long as it is still within the boundaries of the program. The time table of the detoxification diet program is also not fixed, and it may last for a few weeks to even a month.

You can start your detox diet menu program immediately after getting out of bed in the morning. Drink two cups of filtered water or a glass of herbal tea. You can also drink squeezed raw fruit juice with one cup of filtered water. By this time, you should strictly avoid drinking chlorinated water.

A Detox Breakfast

Start your breakfast by eating fruit salad. You can eat your favorite fruits during the morning, like pineapple or banana. A fruit salad consisting of papaya, melon, a half – cup of mango, one slice of banana, a half – cup of strawberries and a 90 ml of raw fruit juice will be good. Don’t add cream or any milk product on it. You can also eat brown rice flavored with 50 to 100 ml of fruit juice.

For your morning and afternoon snacks, you can drink a cup of tea or a glass of unsweetened fruit juice. If you want to eat something solid, eat your favorite fruit or vegetable.

Leafy Greens

For lunch and dinner, your detox diet menu should consist mainly of green and leafy vegetables. You can eat different kinds of vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, beets, cucumber and many more. You are free to experiment and combine different kinds of vegetables. The important thing is to buy only natural and organic fruits and vegetables. Canned products are full of food preservatives and chemicals which deplete the amount of vitamins and nutrients in fruits and vegetables. Instead of frying, just steam your vegetables to lessen your intake of fat and cholesterol

Detox Soups

You can also add vegetable soup to your lunch and dinner. Eat brown rice topped with sliced asparagus and broccoli. Flavor and season it with sesame seeds or other herbs. Be sure to add a small amount of protein to your menu. You can mix your vegetables with small amounts of salmon, tuna, milkfish or naturally grown chicken. Also take vitamin supplements regularly such as vitamins C and E.

Detoxification diet has a lot of benefits to the body. Aside from eliminating toxins and giving nutrients to the body, it will also help you get rid of excessive body fat.
